Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy is a medical procedure used to examine the inside of the uterus (the womb) and diagnose or treat various uterine conditions. It involves the use of a hysteroscope, which is a thin, lighted tube with a camera attached to one end.

Here are some key aspects of hysteroscopy services

  • Diagnostic Hysteroscopy: Performing a hysteroscopy to visually examine the inside of the uterus and uterine cavity using a thin, flexible tube called a hysteroscope.
  • Operative Hysteroscopy: Performing surgical procedures using hysteroscopic techniques to address various uterine conditions and abnormalities.
  • Fertility Assessment and Treatment: Using hysteroscopy to evaluate the uterine cavity for abnormalities that may affect fertility, such as polyps, fibroids, septa, or adhesions. Hysteroscopic procedures can be performed to correct these abnormalities and optimize fertility outcomes in women undergoing infertility treatment or recurrent miscarriage evaluation.
  • Endometrial Sampling and Biopsy: Collecting tissue samples from the endometrium (lining of the uterus) using hysteroscopic techniques for diagnostic purposes, such as evaluating abnormal uterine bleeding, investigating endometrial hyperplasia, or ruling out endometrial cancer.
  • Patient Counseling and Education: Providing preoperative counseling to educate patients about the hysteroscopic procedure, including the benefits, risks, and potential complications.
  • Postoperative Care: Offering comprehensive postoperative care and follow-up to monitor patients' recovery, manage postoperative symptoms, and provide guidance on postoperative instructions, activity restrictions, and medication management.
